Therapy practice management

Therapy Thing,
explained.

What is Therapy Thing?

Therapy Thing is web-based practice management software for therapists and mental health professionals. It brings appointment scheduling, client records, session notes, treatment plans, forms, documents and session-package tracking into one workspace.

How can therapists manage recurring appointment availability?

Therapists choose weekdays, working hours, appointment duration, breaks and an effective date range. Therapy Thing generates individual bookable slots and reports times skipped because of scheduling conflicts. Therapists can skip specific dates or edit one occurrence or the full series.

Can clients book and reschedule therapy sessions online?

Clients invited to the Therapy Thing portal can browse their therapist's published availability by month, week or date and book an open appointment. They can also reschedule or cancel upcoming appointments, subject to the therapist's notice settings.

Can I write therapy notes and treatment plans in Therapy Thing?

Therapists can write session notes in SOAP, DAP or BIRP formats and create treatment plans with separate goals, objectives, interventions and general notes. Notes and plans are organized within each client's chart.

Can clients complete intake forms and upload documents?

Therapists can assign forms to individual clients and set due dates. Clients can save draft responses, submit completed forms and upload supported files, including completed worksheets. Client uploads appear in the linked therapist's Documents workspace and client profile.

How does Therapy Thing track session packages?

Therapy Thing records the total, used and remaining sessions in each client package. Eligible non-cancelled sessions are deducted from an active package when they start, with a manual usage option available to the therapist. Clients see a read-only package summary in their portal.

What information can clients see in their portal?

The client portal shows the signed-in client's appointments, assigned forms, shared documents and billing information. Clients cannot view another client's records, and internal therapist notes are not included in the portal.

Does Therapy Thing work on phones and tablets?

Therapy Thing runs in a web browser on desktop computers, laptops, tablets and phones. Therapists and clients can sign in from these devices without installing a separate app.
